The Professional Range
The Professional Range is developed for heavy/extreme duty sliding applications whereby a rugged, compact design is demanded by the professional engineer.

Sliding Systems' extensive range of heavy duty telescopic slides are machined to provide highly accurate and smooth running movement, under considerable loading. By accurately machining the ball tracks, we can precisely hand fit the bearings, which allows for a slight pre-load and effortless extension. Many slides are available in interchangeable steel, stainless (316L) and aluminium options, allowing flexibility within the design process.
The steel slides are manufactured from high grade carbon steel type C45 E+C which ensures a quality product with strong raceways, fit for the industrial purpose they were designed. Steel beams are plated with an industry standard zinc and passivate 10-12 microns surface protection. Plating is RoHS compliant. Standard ball bearings are chrome plated steel with an option to upgrade to stainless steel 304 or 316L. This suits applications such as train battery boxes where solid section stainless steel slides are beyond budget.
Interchangeable stainless steel slides have grade 316L for all components. The slides are electrostatically polished, as standard, to a bright finish on all surfaces. We also have an interchangeable range of lightweight, non-corrosive aluminium slides grade 6082 T6. Aluminium and stainless slides have grade 316L bearings as standard.
The Professional Range of high strength steel slides have been designed to work under conditions of extreme shock and vibration, particularly applications of under slung battery boxes on trains and heavy drawers on specialist vehicles. The DTS range has the tried and tested 'I' beam format where strength and rigidity is required with minimal slide deflection. This method of manufacture is far superior to other processes where slides are made from rolled or drawn 'C' sections which are liable to failure on extreme applications. The Professional Range is available in a number of beam formats, which offers standard extensions from 50%, 100%, 120%, 150% and even 200% of the slide's closed length. We offer bi-directional extension also as standard. Our slides are tested to destruction and we confidently work up to 2,000kg with the largest profiles. Load calculations (and operational forces) are based upon 1-2% deflection of the slide's closed length when a uniformly loaded pair is fully extended. This rises to approximately 2-3% on our 150 and 200% extensions due to the multiple beams. Our slides are load tested spaced 700mm apart. We recommend that external stops are used within the fabrication on the larger profile slides or those which may be subject to lateral and longitudinal forces. The stops used are limited to speeds not exceeding 0.3mm/s.
The extreme duty drawer slides are available either ex stock or on short production lead times. As our standard manufacturing process for the Professional Range is taking stock lengths of cold drawn/extruded material and machining to size, we are able to offer ANY size configuration without the need for expensive tooling, even on low volume. The slides in this range are sold SINGULARLY and not per pair.
Our Front Handle Locking System has been developed to work with the Professional Range as a positive, rugged means of securing the drawer. No more finger catching or long lead times having slides manufactured. The system can be supplied to lock the drawer in, out or both.
