Established in 1988, Sliding Systems specializes in manufacturing specialty slides that are rare in the market. Different from common furniture slides, specialty slides have great rigidity and are outstanding at bearing large weights, and are capable of industrial use and special applications that furniture slides cannot meet. In harsh conditions, the service life of the specialty slide is several times that of the furniture slide! Our specialty slides can be divided into three materials: Carbon steel, Stainless steel, and Aluminum.
Details as follows:
Heavy duty telescopic slides made of C45 carbon steel beams, which is a common material used for industrial purpose. The structure is compact and robust, in addition to its high load capacity, it can also withstand high-intensity vibration and shocks. There are over 30 existing specifications available, with a load capacity of up to 2040kg and extension rate up to 200%. The surface of the slide is electroplated to industrial grade as basic ani-rust protection. This series of slides can be classified as: Industrial slides, Heavy duty slides, Vibration resistant slides, Over-extended slides, and retractable slides.
A series of telescopic slides made of 316L with the highest corrosion resisting grade among all stainless steel. These slides have good rigidity and extremely resistant to corrosion, which performs excellent in low temperatures. The structure is solid stainless steel beams, with medium to large load capacity and can withstand high-intensity vibration and shocks. The load capacity is up to 1125kg and the standard extension rate is 50% to 100%. Flexible production can be implemented according to specific requirements to achieve the ideal load and extension of the slide. The surface is electropolished to ensure worry-free long-term use. This series of slides can be classified as: Corrosion-resistant slides, Military slides, Heavy-duty slides, Vibration resistant slides, Industrial slides.
The telescopic slide made of high-grade aluminum alloy which has the highest corrosion resistance coefficient in the whole range. The structure is solid aluminum beams. Although the hardness is incomparable to carbon steel and stainless steel, the slide is lightweight, and its maximum load capacity can still reach 324kg. The standard extension rate is 50% to 100%, and the surface is treated with anodization. In addition, we have also developed a series of advanced version of Aluminum Cross Roller Bearing Slides, the structure is of high hardness solid aluminum beams with hardened cross roller bearings. The load capacity is stronger, and the deflection is smaller, which can withstand high-intensity vibration, shocks, and offset load. The maximum load capacity is up to 400kg and the standard extension rate is 50% to 100%. The surface is also treated with anodization. These two series can be classified as: Corrosion-resistant slides, Cross roller bearing slides, Industrial slides.
We have flexible production capacity to manufacture same specification of slide with three interchangeable materials, and a wide range of product solutions to meet most special applications.
Slide applications can be briefly categorized into the following six sectors:
Special Vehicles
Fire trucks, ambulances, camper vans, buses, construction machinery, and dining vehicles can all be covered in the special vehicle category. Slides for special vehicles sector require the ability to carry relatively large weights, while not being damaged by long-term vibrations generated by vehicle body, and require basic corrosion resistance feature due to frequent exposure to outdoor environments. Fire truck slide applications include generator slide, heavy drawer slide out, tip down (tilting) drawer slide...etc. Locking handle for fire truck drawers is also available.
Railway industry
Trains, high-speed rails, and subways are all included in this industry. The slide used in railway vehicles require to be able to load huge weights and withstand high frequency vibrations and considerable shock forces. Meanwhile, if the rail route passes through areas with more extreme weather, the slides need to be highly resistant to corrosion. This sector can be identified as one of the most demanding fields in specialty slide applications. Railway industry applications include underbody battery box slide out (auxiliary power extraction), traction system pull out, first/business class seat slide, emergency door slide, telescopic step for platform gap... etc.
Defense industry
This industry covers all military applications related to land, sea, and air. There are a wide variety of slides that may be used, and the required load capacity can be varied from hundreds of kg to several thousand kg. The slide structure must be able to withstand high frequency vibration and the enormous impact generated by acceleration. Further, to adapt to various climatic environments, the slide must have excellent corrosion resistance (and sometimes it needs to have non-magnetic characteristics). This sector can be considered the most challenging area in specialty slide applications. The defense industry applications include battery equipment extraction, ammunition system handling, combat vehicle seat slides, military command center cabinet pull out… etc.
Aerospace industry
Passenger airplane and commercial aircraft can all be referred to this category. In the aerospace sector, the priority requirement for the slide in the aircraft is the weight. The slide needs to be light weight and capable of carrying medium weight and withstand high level G force without any failure phenomenon. The slide for aircraft seat is even required to perform normal function after withstanding offset load. In addition, aerospace slides need to be non-corrosive to meet low maintenance requirements. Aerospace industry applications include Business/First class seat slide for full-flat function, aircraft interior galley drawers, Lavatory drawer storage… etc. Applications around the airport include tow tractor sliding door, aircraft maintenance platform slide… etc.
Automation industry
This sector covers a wide range of industrial production lines and warehouse automation equipment applications. The slides applied in this industry must have excellent stability to facilitate the sustainable use of the equipment, slides for some demanding applications even required to be challenged by millions of cycles. Load requirements may vary, but whether it is light loads or heavy-duty, all structure requires minimal deflection performance. The surface of the slide must have basic corrosion resistant to avoid the risk of downtime for maintenance. Automation industry applications include machine tending systems drawers, storage equipment drawers, telescopic forks of AS/RS shuttle (aka shuttle cars), automatic production line slides, maintenance equipment drawers, tooling rack heavy drawer slides... etc.
Offshore industry
From yachts, cargo ships to submarines can all be included in this field. All slides used in this sector will be challenged by the harshest corrosive environments, and long-term functionality must be ensured in the air filled with high humidity and salt. The required load capacity range is relatively wide, with varying extension level. Offshore industry applications include storage cabinet drawers, sliding equipment, generator pull out, oil rigs sliding machinery... etc.
In addition to the above six industries, our slides are often used in more other areas. In view of this, you are welcome to contact us for any project regarding the use of slides, and we will be happy to help you realize your design. We look forward to working with you.
